Design and Development of Floor Cleaner Robot (Automatic and Manual)



This floor cleaner robot works in two modes “Automatic and manual”. All hardware and software are controlled by AT89S52 microcontroller. This robot can perform sweeping and mopping task. RF module have been used when robot and remote having more than 50 meters. This robot cannot perform with IR sensor for obstacle detection and automatic water sprayer pump. Four motors are used, two for cleaning, one for water pump and one for wheels. Two channel relay circuit used to drive the motors one for water pump and another for cleaner. In the automatic mode robot control all the operations itself and change the path in case of moves detection and moves backward. In the manual mode, the keypad is used to operate robot. In manual mode, RF module has been used to transmit and receive the information between remote and robot. The whole circuitry is connected with 12V battery.

This solar powered vision based robotic lawn mower is an automatic lawn mower that allows the user to the cut their grass land with minimal effort. Unlike other robotic lawn mowers on the market, this design of Lawn Mower requires no perimeter wires to maintain the robot within the lawn and also with less human labour in manual mode. There are some pre define patterns installed in the robot, in automatic mode operation no human labour needed for the machine and the automatic mode helps to cut different patterns in the lawn with less time and easily. This machine always avoids and detects objects and humans. And also it detect the land boundaries and start moves in predefine pattern with the help of installed camera and MATLAB programming.
